Steve Herder
A young artist turned photographer Steve decided to pursue commercial photography before digital was even a word. No he’s not as ancient at Ansell Adams but he’s as industrious and creative with his approach to his craft and enjoys his work to the fullest. After shooting for a large catalog company and then for a few privately owned commercial studios in Minnesota and Iowa, Steve embarked on his own with Herder Photography in 2006.

Steve has proven to be extremely versatile with great attention to detail and fantastic lighting for any subject matter. His fun loving personality is inviting and a pleasure to work with.
whether on location on a 105° day in southern Texas, or a simple product shoot in the comfort of the studio, you will be sure to be impressed by Steve’s ability to deliver the customer’s vision and more.

When Steve is away from the camera he enjoys exploring Minnesota trails with his wife Laurie, cheering on his youngest sons basketball team, and sitting around a fire with family and friends.
The STUDIO
The perfect environment to draw inspiration, create new imagery, and be comfortable so you can enjoy the process. While we often shoot on location, we also have a full-service studio for more controlled shoots. Clients are in a simple space for productivity and a model has the room to sit back and relax in between takes.
